Then again this game is about space ships and not space barbies so not many people care about their barbie.
Have to disagree on this. EVE is never finished, this universe could become so much more and will have to be to last another 10-20 years. I see it as a real new universe, ever growing, ever expanding. I'd like to pick up dusties with my galactic cruiser and have them board a space station to conquer and control for my alliance. I would like real worlds populated by planet builders, interacting with the capsuleers and producing real goods for the galactic market, managing planet populations and transferring taxes to the alliances/corps that own the star system they are in. The planets would in turn need ores and goods we produce and ship/haul to build their planets. Would bring a different kind of gamer into EVE who would add to the system just like every capsuleer does. They would manage their people and hire dusties/corps to conquer the next planet they want to colonize.
My EVE is so much more then just a game about flying spaceships, it is a mix of games coming together to make a gaming universe unlike anything that has been before. This is the future of gaming and would like EVE on the forefront of it. The concept EVE uses right now (continuous patching, creating dust in the same universe as a side game) is ideally suited and the interaction between them would increase step by step improving the game experience for all. It will take continued investment and more devs ofc, it's a long term plan but the subsciption model can make it happen. Dust needs to come to the PC tho.
Being able to walk and venture into space station could be part of this, with careers for factions in the station, maybe running through the halls with your toon to go man the defenses against an invading force who wants to take control of the stations profits. The game only ends where the devs imagination ends.
Fly hard o/ Reopen the EVE gate so we can invade Serenity. Goons can go first. |

As CCP has said they want eve to be a complete SCI FI exp overall, not just spaceships even though those are the most important and central part of the game. I don't think having a team working on avatar things is such a bad idea unless it would somehow affect work being done on the core game. EVE has one if not THE best character creator I've ever seen, it's a shame to see it so limited when it comes to variety in clothing and accessories. Our old avatars looked very sci-fi ish, our new ones just for the most part have modern looking clothing. Need more sci fi stuff :D Also, would like to see a bunch of race specific things to help distinguish the races from each other like we used to have. They have an amazing art team, I have no doubt they could come up with some amazing looking items.
CCP READ THIS, IT IS A VERY GOOD IDEA!
Why not let players design the collection and accessories to be sold via LP or AUR? I am sure a lot of people would jump at the opportunity. The community could vote which pieces/collections get added to the store and which not. Even for beginning designers it would stand out on their resume that they designed a whole series of clothing used & voted in by a community of over half a million.
CCP would own the virtual rights and don't have to spend a dime designing them. If pieces would be sold RL on popular demand afterwards a (example) 10% royalty would be payed towards the designer. The station environment (add a promenade) would be the perfect place for selling these RL EVE based clothes. CCP cashes in as they wanted and so does the designer. I sure would consider buying some cool EVE sweaters and T-shirts if I like the design. One could have the clothes produced by a fair trade clothing manufacturer and gain free publicity for CCP and EVE online through the press.
This is the future CCP, freelancers who design without ever being directly employed by a company; Sold online through popular venues and the artists earning royalties for their work. One works from home this way and even helps reduce congestion and CO2 pollution. The time of commuting to work every day is over with... It's simple madness and made obsolete by the internet. We can communicate just as well through video conference as face to face. A win win situation every way I look at it. Reopen the EVE gate so we can invade Serenity. Goons can go first. |

That's the idea and why DUST needs to come to PC...

At the moment no-one can see what's below. Creating a 3 dimensional avatar and making it unique is just a first step into a bigger world. You could have a tombraider-genre space adventure game set in the EVE universe, using your own unique EVE-toon. No limits but what we make them.
"Contract a RL eve player to bring you to station X in null space to continue your adventure game. You could have capsuleers who make a career transferring toons from another game to some point in the galaxy without getting blown up." Reopen the EVE gate so we can invade Serenity.
